YIKES! What a simple yet profound statement. In a social media driven world where the more followers we received the more popular, you are with the online world. Yet it just never dawns on me that sometimes the people that follow you on my various social media platforms are not my fans. For whatever reason they decided to follow me, my hope is that my posts are uplifting and positive. My hope is that what I post online is the same person if they ever meet me in their physical life.

Listen…I wouldn’t be human if I too am guilty of wishing that I have a gazillion followers. But let’s be real, that’s not my reality LOL (insert laugh out loud emoji). This image reminded me that I rather have 5 followers that I can pick up the phone at any time and share the good and not so good things about my life. The good Lord knows I have all sorts of good and not so great things that go on in my reality. Thank goodness the Lord has chosen me to follow him. I have been CHOSEN by the magnificent grace of God.

Not to say that it doesn’t feel good to have a fan like we are a celebrity or something. Oh friends, we truly are a celebrity in God’s eyes. Take a moment and close your eyes and feel the presence of God looking at you as though you are the ULTIMATE celebrity in the world. Y’all that’s how God looks at you. He admires you because he is the creator of you.

It feels good to surround ourselves with people that will cheer you on as you navigate this complicated life. Yes, I said “complicated”. Don’t be shocked! My life has been incredibly complicated. Praise the Lord that He has been so persistent and consistent in my life even when I didn’t know it. I don’t need to spare you with the details. We will save that for another day! I just pray that for you and myself that we would take some time and detox the list of people on our social media platform and reflect on the people that we believe are truly our fans.

Know that God is always your #1 Fan! HE paid the ultimate price of giving the world his one and only son, Jesus Christ, who knew no sin and became sin for us all. Take some time to read Psalm 139:14 and allow our marvelous God remind you of his priceless love for you.
